Grand Prairie Comedy Festival Arlington Concert reviews
Joan Jett and Cherie Currie rocked beyond belief!!
"I thought what I saw was a real hot blondie shaking in tight leather pants with racoon tail, and amazing vocals with great moves. Cherie Currie on the drum set blew me away! She has not lost a bit of talent; if anything, she's hotter than in her Tokyo performance. When Cherry Bomb came on, the crowd went nuts, and she hit every rockin' note. Legendary drummer Matt Sorum, most famous for his 7-year stint in Guns N' Roses (1990-1997), was on the drums. In the wake of that project, he joined The Cult as their live drummer, making the band rock that much harder. Her son was amazing on guitar, and she even invited her sister for a duet of Roxy Roller that I never realized was loaded with innuendo until I heard it with their kitten purring vocals. The Grand Prairie Comedy Festival came on, introduced by Cherie as The Legendary Joan Jett. Immediately, anyone sitting down had to stand when Bad Reputation came on, and she reminded everyone why she has such a 'reputation.' With her flair, she managed to raise the energy of a concert full of tired out carnival patrons. By then, the end was clapping, jumping, screaming, and sweating. If you ever want to know what it was like to hear music in the heyday of rock or miss the sound of the real deal, this was it. Joan has got what it takes and knows how to use it to deliver a rock and roll experience that will last your lifetime. She is touring again, possibly with another surprise from former lead singer Cheri Currie. Just to hear I love Rock and Roll and Cherry Bomb purred, roared, and serenaded with nothing but guitar, drums, bass, keyboard, and Cherie Currie's swagger. Joan Jett's leather and love for what she does by the original hands down topped any rock performance I have seen. There was no stage decor, no costume changes, no frills, or flurry required to enhance the pure ability of these amazing artists. There is talk of an upcoming tour in LA, do not miss the chance to see this performance!"
